Oh, yeah? So do you! Oh, God, whatta - whatta dumb thing to say, right? I mean, you say it, "You play well," and then right away I have to say "you play well". Oh, oh, God, Annie. Well, oh well, la-de-da, la-de-da, la-la. Yeah.

Luna Schlosser: I absolutely do not want to hear about it, Herald. This world is so full of wonderful things. What makes people suddenly go berserk and hate everything anyway. I mean, why does there have to be an underground? After all, there's the orb, and there's the telescreen, and there's the Orgasmatron. What more do they want?

Herald Cohen: It's hard for us to understand the criminal element. We're artists. We respond only to beauty.

Annie Hall made me love her and hate Woody Allen.

God, she was so good in Annie Hall. Of everything she did and I saw, that role has to be my absolute favorite. Another tremendous loss.

I've actually been wanting to do a rewatch of The Godfather for a bit here. Looks like tonight's the night. RIP Kay.

"Play It Again Sam". Diane Keaton++.

She was also in an early episode of Night Gallery. Imagine having the opportunity to work with the great Rod Serling.

She was so good in The Sleeper by Woody Alan.

She's good in everything I've ever seen her in. Her style (on rom-coms) may not appeal to everyone, but she was an absolute stellar actress and will be remembered on many all-time lists.

What does that have to do with:

“ Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity.”

How does nontechnical TV and movie celebrity news gratify one's intellectual curiosity?

Legit I have no clue why I’m seeing news of a run-of-the-mill celebrity’s death on HN.

In support of what you saying, it's disconcerting to know that some people can bay for someone's blood with no concrete evidence. These people are completely willing to believe someone who play victim and are willing to consider that false allegations especially by women are even a thing.

( As a side note I think the daughter is someone who is susceptible to false memories. I think till date I have read of 2 other similar cases where innocent fathers were accused.)

I was thinking more about how he was banging his partner's adopted daughter who was 25 years younger than him while she was still in school (though over 18), then later marrying her. It screwed up the entire family.

All the rancor and accusations (true or false) stem from what a selfish horny creepy cheating idiot Allen was at the time. It's all on him.

So I stand by my subtle criticism of Allen.

> 25 years younger than him while she was still in school (though over 18)

So the figure of 25 years matters for you, would it have made any difference if the figure were 2.5 years?

> my subtle criticism of Allen.

It's very far from subtle.
