Anyway a story about 2 people I knew in the mid 70s during the Gas Shortage, both had sports cars that got 4 miles per gallon (on a good day). Really not me.
Person 1: "hired" pros to steal the car at a cost of a few hundred. Car stolen, he got a couple of thousand and the car became Campbell Soup cans. All good.
Person 2: said that was too expensive, so he and a couple of friends 'stole' his car. The drove it to the middle of a large forest and trashed it. A few months later it was found by the police. Because of his insurance and the value of the car, it cost him a lot to get it repaired.
