According to their website, It's four entities:
1. OpenAI Global LLC (the for-profit firm that does most of the actual work), which Microsoft and #2 co-own.
2. A holding company, which #3 controls and #4 and other investors own.
3. OpenAI GP LLC, a management entity that #4 owns and which controls #3.
4. The OpenAI Nonprofit.
(There's a blog entry about OpenAI LP, a for-profit limited partnership, being founded in 2019, and I've seen information about them from earlier in 2023, but they aren't listed in the current structure. That might be the holding company, with the other investors as limited partners; its odd, if so, that its not named on the structure diagram and description.)
