> But we also don't see any evidence in support of their claims of an "existential threat" beyond the fascists claiming there is one.

That is pretty clutching at straws argument. It would turn basically any movie into satire, because this thing is normal.

Like, it was a bad movie and failed both as satire and as action movie.

Parents definition of emergency extends goes beyond "direct threat to life right now".

The bot was trained on conservative bullshit. In this scenario, woman taking the advice would end up punished by court. And that happens even when there is documented history of domestic violence in play.

> it is also one of the reasons why wealthy people are convicted less often.

A teenager posting own photo and getting away with it is massively different then a rich guy raping a girl and getting away with it. Or, rich guy getting away with outright frauds with thousands of victims.

> While it often delivered as a narrative of wealth corrupting the system, the reality is that usually what they are buying is the justice that we all should have.

This is not true. Epstein did not got "justice we all should have". Trump did not got "justice we all should have". People pardoned by Trump did not got "justice we all should have". Wall Street and billionaires are not getting justice we all should have either. All these people are getting impunity and that is not what we all should have.

You're right, it's not a two tier system, it's (at least) a three tier system, where the middle tier is getting the "correct" justice, and the low tier unfavorable and the high tier preferential.

The pardons (the non-purchased ones) were not out of charity to the pardonees but to foster future behavior beneficial to the pardoner.

Poor people and middle class people produce art. They both work as artists or do art on the side as a hobby. It is not that expensive either.

Expectation that you have portfolio does not strikes me as outrageous either.

"No artificial color" meant that food had the color it really had, without additional coloring.

Natural banana does not have little green ponies on red background. If you color it with green and red, you have banana that does not have its natural color. Banana in artificial color.

Right, I got it now. But for literally the entire time I've seen that (now obsolete) label, I've misunderstood it as "no artificial colors" not "no artificially added colors." I can't be the only one!

It's unclear why they didn't say "no added colors" from the beginning, since apparently that's what they meant all along.

Proper hackers are interested in homeschool propaganda, but not in closed airspace.

Funny how bodily autonomy is all that important when it comes to right wing fear of vaccines, but completely irrelevant when it comes to abortions, womens rights in general, sexual abuse, trans rights and generally rights of anyone disliked by this admin.

> any vaccine that predominately helps old people actually increases costs to society in the long run

I think that big difference between the political sides is that one of them does not see "kill all old people" as ethical strategy.

So, the majority of us, people under 65 are completely unaffected. And yes, the vaccine can be approved for 65- while not approved for 65+.

The fall 2025 approval was limited to 65+/preexisting conditions.

If this vaccine wasn’t being tested for 65+, it might not be approved at all based on that.

> grow up in a financial risk averse society.

It is not risk taking, it is a system that not just normalized the debt, but punishes people for not taking it. When you are recommended to use credit card, so you can function on debt, so that you can get better mortgage later on, then the thing in play is not just "risk aversion".

Yeah, that always blew my mind as a non American.
