What is this map? Almost every city in DK and Sweden shows "Kåre Olsen"

No, nothing wrong with your codecs. It's sounds shitty. But given the small size and speed it's still impressive.

It's like saying .kkrieger looks like a bad game, which it does, but then again .kkrieger is only 96kb or whatever.

How big are TTS models like this usually?

.kkrieger looks like an amazing game for the mid-90s. It's incomprehensible that it's only 96kb.

Here is an overview: https://www.inferless.com/learn/comparing-different-text-to-...

Also keep in mind the processing time. The ^ article above used a NVIDIA L4 with 24-GB VRAM. Sopro claims 7.5 second processing time on CPU for 30 seconds of audio!

If you want to get real good quality TTS, you should check out elevenlabs.io

Different tools for different goals.

> the open source model clearly shows that money can be made.

Does it?

I know lots of professional Indie software developers. I can't think of a single one that uses an open source model.

Cool cool, but you linked to a specific discord channel which no one has access to. Should link to github.

> Seriously who needs a Store App on a desktop OS?

I like the idea. A single place to search for common apps, that also keep them updated. I don't want to download the .exe again and again with ever update. Just do that in the background please.

Though I mostly use WinGet, but it's sadly not as user friendly as apt.

A VM that cost 7 EUR per day? Or is that his price for claude?

If you block the commercial VPN services, you increase the burden of entry. You block the 99%. It's not a legal discission, it's a business decision.

Some people want netflix or similar streaming services, and don't pirate. Which is limited via the browser.

If you are multilingual, you can also try SwiftKey (now owned by Microsoft) or the open source FUTO keyboard (bad for swipe typing)

I use 3 languages with SwiftKey and it works really well.

That said, it got bought by Microsoft and now they try to cram in some AI nonsense :(
